Dear Dr. Drayer and
Staff,
After
vacationing at Disney World with my grandsons,
ages 7 and 10, last week and keeping
up with them I decided it was time to
write and say thank you! I was able to
make the trip to Disney, hustle in the
airport, and visit 4 theme parks in 4
days, of course we began early each morning
and didn't stop until dark.
Here is a
GREAT BIG thank you to Doctor Drayer
and his staff for their continued support
and always a listening ear!
Sincerely,
Nancy Siddall

Many people do not understand the wide range
of treatment options available to the Orthopedic Physician.
Here is a summary of some of those options that range
from nonsurgical treatments to limited invasive surgery.
Treatment with Medication
Treatments with
medications include the use of Cortisone, Synvisc injections,
Glucosamine, Chondroitin and antiinflammatories.
Joint
Reconstruction
Ligament injuries of the knee, shoulder
(torn rotator cuffs, etc.) and ankle (torn ankle ligaments,
etc.)are common in sports. These include ACL, PCL,
and MCL injuries
of the
knee joint. Dr. Drayer provides treatment from physical
therapy to surgical reconstruction or grafts to repair
the ligament
damage. Treatment includes dislocating kneecaps and
patellas out of alignment.

|
Knee — Common
causes of knee pain and instability include arthritis, or damage
to the ligaments or the cartilage. We are also seeing cases of improper
patellar alignment that lead to other knee injuries.
Treatments include:
- Physical therapy
- Temporary Bracing and Stabilization
- Medication
- Arthroscopy
- Joint Resurfacing
- Cartilage Transplant
- Repositioning of the kneecap
- Knee Replacement
|
 |
|
Hip — In addition
to arthritis, trochanteric bursitis, also called hip bursitis,
is a common problem of pain and inflammation over the ouside of the
hip and thigh area. Hip fractures are common in
older patients. Hip Pointers are generally sports related indicating
a bone bruise or fracture. Additional issues can result from osteoporosis,
and nerve or sacroiliac inflammation.
Treatments include:
- Physical Therapy
- Medication
- Rest and Stabilization
- Arthroscopy
- Joint Resurfacing
- Hip Replacement
|
 |
|
Shoulder — Shoulder
pain is an extremely common complaint. It is important to make
an accurate diagnosis of the cause of your symptoms so that appropriate
treatment can be directed at the cause. If you have shoulder pain, some
common causes include:
Bursitis, Arthritis, Tendonitis and Calcification, Shoulder Instability,
Dislocation or Separation, and Rotator Cuff Tears.
Treatments include:
- Rest or Physical Therapy
- Anti-Inflamitory Medications
- Cortisone Injections
- Arthroscopy
- Resurfacing
- Traditional Surgery
- Shoulder Replacement

|
Broken Bones — Trauma
treatment including pediatrics and sports injuries.
We offer x-ray facilities and can re-set simple fractures in the
office.
Complex fractures and injuries to growth plates may require additional
treatment. |
 |
|
Foot and Ankle — Dr.
Gary Cesar, one of the area's leading foot and ankle specialists,
is available to help treat and diagnose foot and ankle conditions including
foot or heel pain,
bunions, plantar fasciitis, spurs, plantars warts, tendon injuries,
sprains and tarsal tunnel syndrome. Dr. Cesar also provides rapid
turnaround on
custom orthotic inserts. Click here for more information. |

|
Elbow — Epicondylitis,
more commonly known as tennis or golfers elbow, is the cause of
elbow pain and commonly occers in people who are not golfers or tennis
players. Bursitis, Tendonitis, Carpal or Radial Tunnel Syndrome as
well as arthritis and fractures are the most common causes of inflammation
in the elbow. |

Alternative Joint Replacement
Osteotomies (realigning joints)
Partial Knee
replacements
Cartilage Transplant
Modern research technology has produced
methods to cultivate cartilage in the lab. The new cartilage
can then be transplanted to supplement this tough cushioning
layer in your joint, providing fresh surfaces and eliminating "bone
to bone" friction
that is both destructive and painful. Cartilage can also
be transferred from a less important part of the body to
a more critical location.
Resurfacing
Refinishing the joint surface within an inflamed
or injured joint can at times provide long term relief from
pain or discomfort. Generally this is an Arthroscopic procedure.
This minimally invasive procedure allows for rapid recovery,
getting you back to your regular activity level with limited
recovery time.
Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy can provide relief for many
patients. Working with a select group of physical therapy
partners, Dr. Drayer will direct a treatment plan to help
relieve pain or strengthen surrounding muscle tissue to ease
discomfort through better support of the joint.
Trauma
Urgent and emergency care for broken
bones with rapid rehabilitation for return to work and school.
Sports Injuries
Combinations of surgical and
nonsurgical care for quick return to the court or playing
field.
